Reading Signs

I must have been retarded
Ignoring feelings again
Delaying to be discarded
Harsh words saved, but by her friends bombarded

Building foundations on a quake zone
Should have packed and moved
Should have left well enough alone
But the fallback girls were unknown

I disregarded the faults
And waited for the crack
Now I know my seismograph works
And that she has a nice rack

No need for further tests
Nor outlay of expenses
I’m a wishful thinker though
So I’ll probably doubt the readings and senses
