Five Percent

If I'm not paying, he won't be caring.
Taxes pay the officer to be impartial
The judge, the garbage man, the marshal
The guys standing around the fire in the car yard.
They're there to warm themselves, not my well fairing.
So they'll give me a few cold facts, thanks for the info.
Yeah, my agenda's not yours
and I'm not your kinfolk
But spare a little compassion
Make yourself some luck,
I'll remember that you gave five percent of a fuck
Who stopped to shake or lend a hand
That lady who gave me free soil at the flower stand
That guy who let me take some mulch, thanks man
If I were a thug, I would think twice before mugging
White people with shorts and collard shirts
But I'm not, so I'll probably give them a smile
And if hot, a proper hugging.
