The burn is felt when you fall too fast
loves slow opportunities vast
when we don't stand on anything certain
in the air we are sure to last
and when gone with haste we stumble
Instead of enjoying the air above
We hit the ground too soon
A heart felt emotional shove
Extend the distant perspective
keeping level headed and subjective
level steering to sights unseen
slowly closing the gap between
I should have sought a pleasant landing
instead of crashing to steep hills and cave
and perhaps more understanding
when it came to "I don't want", engraved
Eventually touch down's delicatessen
With flowers plentiful and tempting
If you ever chute, a lesson
try much less preempting
