Stuck at arms length to diminish both affection and animosity

Fear of strangers is over come by curiosity

Prehensile thumbs don't come to greet due to preexisting connection

Everyone leaves in time so why fear rejection

Go where I've been if desperate for attention with eleven to spare

Where leporine stares are likely if ones view isn't shared

As a con would glare at spectators in a non stimulated prison

Pay to see spirit savage minus soul and out of commission

Locked up without room to express what was found attractive

Human independence replaced with house pets inactive

Stereotypes crushed in a stone kiddy pool for summer days

Chain link fences and cement floors creating false cliches

Of the nature of one beast we choose to admire

While free to express more than that of any zoo has acquired

Unrestricted with room to roam

To explore the world or go back home

Until suspended for stepping on feet and warnings unheeded

Hide like those who haven't been caught, until needed

When we are alone and friendless in the wild

Becoming the fiercest animals compiled
